ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reinstated 18 officers who were dismissed during the tenure of former chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, as part of a wider administrative restructuring aimed at improving efficiency.
According to official sources, the officers had earlier been transferred to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Department. They have now been reposted to their previous positions or assigned new roles across various departments.
The restructuring reflects the CDA’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and strengthen institutional performance. The authority, established in 1960, is responsible for planning and managing development in Islamabad.
Among the key appointments, Director Environment Irfan Azeem Khan has been promoted to Deputy Director General (Environment-I) and given additional charge of Environment-II. Meanwhile, Azhar Khursheed, Director (Executive) BS-19, has been assigned a new role, though his final posting is yet to be confirmed.
In the urban planning and environment sectors, Syed Abid Shah and Akram Ranjha have been appointed as Deputy Directors under the HRD Department, where they will oversee urban development and environmental projects.
Several senior-level changes have also been made. Wasim Sabir, Director (E&M), has been promoted to Director General (E&M), replacing Mian Irfan Javed. Habib Ullah Sheikh, Director (Civil), has been appointed Director General (Infrastructure), while Sardar Khan Zimri, Director (Civil), has been posted as Director General (Islamabad Water).
At the deputy director level, Ejaz-ul-Hasan has been posted under the Director Sector Development, replacing Waqar Asghar. Ammar Idrees and Abid Farooq, both Deputy Directors (Civil), have been transferred to the Coordination and Technical (Works) wings, where they will handle project execution and technical supervision.
The Parks and Environment departments have also undergone changes. Akram Ranjha has been appointed Deputy Director (Parks), while Aurangzeb Bajkani has been posted as Deputy Director (Parks), Urban-II. Both officials will oversee the management of parks and green spaces in the capital.
Additionally, Atta Bari Arshad, Assistant Director (Land Rehabilitation), has been transferred to the environment wing.
At the junior level, Assistant Directors Arif Ali and Sanaullah have also been reassigned. Arif Ali has been posted as Assistant Director (Maintenance-III), while Sanaullah has been assigned to Assistant Director (P&C).
Officials said the reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to optimize human resources and improve coordination across departments.
