Pakistani Spinner Noman Ali Breaks 130-Year-Old Test Cricket Record

Pakistan left-arm spinner Noman Ali made Test cricket history during the first match against Bangladesh national cricket team at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, becoming the oldest player ever to reach 100 wickets in Test cricket.

Noman reached the milestone after dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz, taking his Test wicket tally to 100. He also claimed the wickets of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Taijul Islam in another impressive bowling performance.

At 39 years and 217 days, Noman set a new record as the oldest player to complete 100 Test wickets. He broke a record that had stood for almost 130 years. The previous record was held by former England spinner Bobby Peel, who reached the milestone in 1896 at the age of 39 years and 180 days.

This is another major achievement in Noman’s remarkable Test career. He also became the joint fourth-fastest Pakistani bowler to reach 100 Test wickets, achieving the feat in his 22nd Test match. This puts him alongside Fazal Mahmood on Pakistan’s all-time list, behind only Yasir Shah, Saeed Ajmal, Waqar Younis, and Mohammad Asif.

Noman Ali has become one of Pakistan’s most inspiring red-ball success stories, and this latest milestone has secured his place in global Test cricket history.
