CDA Operation Turns Violent at Islamabad Shrine, 250 Individuals Charged

A major clash broke out in the Bari Imam area of Islamabad after the Capital Development Authority (CDA) continued its anti-encroachment operation. Police have registered a FIR against almost 250 people, including charges under terrorism laws, following the violent incident.

FIR Registered Against 250 People

Police filed the First Information Report (FIR) at the Secretariat Police Station on the complaint of CDA Assistant Director Enforcement Zafar Shah.

According to officials, a large group of locals resisted the operation. In FIR they wrote that the protesters had attacked CDA teams, threw stones, and set government vehicles on fire during the clash.

Vehicles Burned, Police Injured

The situation quickly escalated as protesters allegedly used petrol bombs and weapons. Reports confirm that at least two government vehicles were burned, and many police officers were injured during the confrontation.

CDA Continues Demolition Operation

Despite the violence, CDA continued its operation in the area with heavy machinery. Authorities have already destroyed many structures and say more action will follow.

Police have also launched raids across Islamabad to arrest individuals named in the FIR. Search operations are ongoing in multiple areas.

Residents Accuse Authorities of Unfair Action

Local residents strongly resisted this operation. Many peoples said that authorities did not give them enough time to remove their belongings before demolishing their homes.

CDA Denies Allegations

The CDA rejected these claims and said it followed all legal procedures. Officials stated that multiple notices were issued before the operation and that the demolitions are being carried out under court-approved orders.
