Speed Limits Changed On Motorways And High ways Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: National motorway and highway police have reduce the speed limit for cars, Passenger Service Vehicles, Heavy Transport Vehicles and Light Transport Vehicles.

Goverment Introduce New Speed Limit To Save Fuel

These revised speed limit are the part of ongoing fuel crisis to conserve fuel in country. This move directed by Prime Minister, aimed at promoting energy and encourging fuel saving nationwide.

Speed Limit On Motorways

Under the new regulations of speed limits, Cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs), now restricted to 100km/hour, which is reduced from 120km/hour..

However, Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs) and Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) are now restricted to 90km/hour, which is reduced from 110km/hour.

Speed Limits On Highways

In national highways speed limits are reduced to:

  • Cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs): Reduced from 100km/h to 80 km/h
  • Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs) and Heavy Transport Vehicles 9HTVs): Reduced from 80km/hr to 65km/h

Awareness Compaign

Highway and Mortorway police also launched nationwide awareness compaign to inform peoples about new speed limit and encourage them to ensure smooth implementation.

This aimed to reduce fuel consumption, improve road safety and supports goverment energy conservation goal.
