Fuel Crisis Continues as Petrol Subsidy Gets 30-Day Extension

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a one-month extension of the fuel subsidy for motorcyclists and public and goods transport, aiming to provide relief to low-income groups.

The decision comes as the government tries to reduce the financial burden on citizens amid rising fuel prices and ongoing economic pressure.

The prime minister also directed authorities to ensure that passenger fares and freight charges are not increased, so that the subsidy benefits are passed directly to the public.

He further stressed strict monitoring of the subsidy program and called for coordination with provincial governments to ensure that only deserving individuals receive the benefits.
