The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed the prize money structure ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final, scheduled for Sunday. The title clash will take place between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
For the first time in PSL history, the PCB has introduced a separate reward system for franchises. This move aims to increase financial incentives and strengthen the league’s long-term growth strategy.
PSL 11 Prize Money Breakdown
Under the new structure, both franchises and players will receive dedicated prize money. The total prize pool linked to the final and related awards stands at $1.5 million.
| Category | Prize Money |
|---|---|
| Winners | $500,000 |
| Winning Team Players Pool | $500,000 |
| Runners-Up | $300,000 |
| Best Player Development Franchise | $200,000 |
| Total Prize Pool | $1,500,000 |
The winning franchise will earn $500,000, while the runners-up will take home $300,000. Additionally, players of the championship-winning team will share a separate $500,000 bonus pool.
New Award for Player Development
The PCB has also introduced a new $200,000 award for the franchise with the best player development program. This initiative reflects the board’s focus on nurturing young talent and improving the domestic cricket structure.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi first announced this reward model last year as part of broader reforms to enhance the league’s competitiveness and sustainability.
Zalmi Target Title, Kingsmen Eye Historic Win
Peshawar Zalmi will aim to secure the PSL title after reaching the final for the first time in four years. The former champions have shown consistent performance throughout the tournament.
On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen have emerged as the surprise team of the season. After finishing fourth in the league stage, they defeated Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in consecutive eliminators to book their place in the final in their debut season.
Previous Encounter Adds to Final Excitement
Both teams have already faced each other once this season. Peshawar Zalmi won a thrilling last-ball match by four wickets, setting up an exciting rematch in the final.
With a significant prize pool and a new financial model in place, the PSL 11 final promises high stakes both on and off the field.
