Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated Multan Sultans by eight wickets in Eliminator 1 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, to keep their campaign alive.
With this win, Hyderabad move into Eliminator 2, where they will face Islamabad United for a place in the PSL 11 final. Multan Sultans have been knocked out of the tournament.
Easy Chase Helps Hyderabad Secure Big Win
Chasing a target of 160 runs, Hyderabad Kingsmen comfortably reached 162/2 in just 15.2 overs, finishing the match with 28 balls remaining.
Despite losing captain Marnus Labuschagne early for 11 runs, Hyderabad stayed in control throughout the chase.
Usman Khan and Maaz Sadaqat Lead the Way
Usman Khan and Maaz Sadaqat played match-winning innings and built a strong 92-run partnership for the second wicket.
Usman Khan scored 64 runs off 35 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes.
Maaz Sadaqat remained unbeaten on 64 off 33 balls, including four fours and four sixes, guiding his team to victory.
Saim Ayub also contributed with an unbeaten 15 runs at the end.
Multan Sultans Struggle with the Bat
Earlier, Multan Sultans failed to build momentum after being put in to bat first.
They lost early wickets, including Steve Smith for 13, and other key players like Sahibzada Farhan, Josh Philippe, Ashton Turner, and Arafat Minhas could not make big scores.
Shan Masood Fights Lone Battle
Shan Masood was the top performer for Multan Sultans. He scored an unbeaten 69 runs off 46 balls with four fours and four sixes.
Mohammad Nawaz added 19 runs, but Multan could only post 159/9 in 20 overs.
Hyderabad Bowlers Deliver Strong Performance
Hyderabad’s bowling attack performed well as a unit.
Mohammad Ali, Hunain Shah, and Akif Javed took two wickets each, while Glenn Maxwell and Saim Ayub picked up one wicket each.
Their disciplined bowling kept Multan under pressure throughout the innings.

After just qualifying for the playoffs, Hyderabad Kingsmen have now taken another big step forward.
