Punjab authorities have introduced strict new measures to make matric practical examinations more transparent and fair. The new rules are designed to stop the use of fake practical record books and ensure that students complete their own work.
Only Self-Prepared Practical Copies Accepted
According to Muzammil Mahmood, only those students who prepare their practical notebooks themselves will be awarded marks.
Practical record books bought from the market or prepared by someone else will not be accepted under the new examination policy. Examiners have been instructed to carefully verify each notebook before awarding marks.
Handwriting Verification Made Mandatory
To stop cheating, examiners will compare each practical notebook with the candidate’s own handwriting.
This step has been introduced to identify copied or pre-written practical books and ensure that every student submits original work completed during the academic session.
Checked Notebooks Will Be Torn
Under the new instructions, every practical notebook will be torn or cancelled after it has been checked.
The move is aimed at preventing the reuse or resale of practical record books, a practice that has been common in previous years.
Strict Action for Violations
The chairman warned that strict action will be taken against examiners, teachers, or staff members who fail to implement these directions.
Education authorities have made it clear that negligence or non-compliance will not be tolerated.
Part of Wider Exam Reforms
These changes are part of broader examination reforms introduced across Punjab to improve merit, transparency, and credibility in board exams.
The new system is expected to close loopholes that previously allowed students to submit purchased or duplicated practical copies instead of their own work.
