Punjab Announces Grade 4 Assessment Schedule 2026

The Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has announced the Large-Scale Assessment (LSA-2026) for Grade 4 students. The authority will conduct this assessment in selected schools across Punjab to check students’ learning levels.

Schools Included in the Assessment

According to an official notification issued on May 6, the government will conduct the assessment in schools under different systems. These include the School Education Department (SED), Punjab Education Foundation (PEF), Punjab Education Management Authority (PIMA), Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education (L&NFBE), Special Education Department, District Public Schools (DPS), and registered private schools.

Assessment Schedule

The assessment will begin on May 11 with the Mathematics paper. Students will take the Urdu exam on May 12 and the English exam on May 13. On May 14, schools will conduct tests for Urdu and English listening, dictation, reading, and speaking skills. The final paper for Science will take place on May 18.

Timings and Duration

Most exams will be held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The Mathematics paper on May 11 will start at 9:00 AM and end at 12:30 PM. Each paper will last three and a half hours.

Purpose of the Assessment

PECTAA will conduct the assessment on a sample basis in selected schools. The main goal is to measure how well Grade 4 students are learning and to identify areas that need improvement in the education system.
